7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of all patient data and content you input into the Service. We do not claim ownership of your data.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Vetinuity and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
AI-generated content (such as SOAP notes and discharge instructions) created using your input data belongs to you, subject to the license granted to us to provide the Service.
9. Professional Clinical Responsibility
Vetinuity is a clinical support tool, not a substitute for professional veterinary judgment. The licensed veterinarian is solely responsible for:
- Verifying all medications – including drug names, formulations, and appropriateness for the species and patient
- Confirming all dosages – including dose calculations, dosing intervals, and route of administration
- Checking for drug interactions – including contraindications, patient-specific risks, and concurrent medications
- Validating clinical information – including diagnoses, differential lists, treatment protocols, and discharge instructions
- Reviewing AI-generated content – all SOAP notes, summaries, and recommendations must be reviewed and approved before use in patient care or medical records
AI systems can produce errors, hallucinations, or outdated information. You must independently verify all clinical content against current veterinary references, pharmacological databases, and your professional knowledge before relying on it for patient care.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that Vetinuity does not provide veterinary medical advice and that you bear full professional responsibility for all clinical decisions.
10. AI-Powered Translation (Live Translate)
The Service includes an optional real-time translation feature ("Live Translate") that uses third-party AI models to translate spoken conversation between a veterinary professional and a non-English-speaking client during clinical consultations.
10.1 Nature of the Translation
Live Translate is an AI-generated convenience tool, not a certified or professional interpretation service. Translations are produced by machine-learning models and may contain errors, omissions, mistranslations, or culturally inappropriate phrasing. The feature does not employ human interpreters and is not certified under any federal, state, or professional interpretation standard.
10.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy
We do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any translation produced by Live Translate. AI translation is inherently probabilistic and may:
- mistranslate medical or veterinary terminology
- omit or alter the meaning of spoken statements
- produce output that does not faithfully reflect the speaker's intent
- fail to convey tone, urgency, or nuance
10.3 Professional Responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring that clinical information is accurately communicated to and understood by the client. Live Translate does not reduce or alter any professional obligation you have to obtain informed consent, confirm client understanding of treatment plans, or communicate critical clinical information clearly.
Where accurate communication is essential to patient safety, treatment decisions, informed consent, or financial authorization, you should use a qualified human interpreter or other reliable method to confirm understanding. Live Translate should be used as a supplemental aid, not as the sole means of communication for critical clinical decisions.
10.4 Limitation of Liability for Translation
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VETINUITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, DAMAGE, OR CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED TRANSLATIONS, including but not limited to miscommunication of treatment plans, dosing instructions, surgical consent, financial estimates, or discharge instructions.
10.5 Recording and Data Handling
Live Translate sessions involve real-time transmission of audio to third-party AI service providers for translation processing. Audio is streamed and processed in real time; it is not stored by Vetinuity after the session ends. The recording consent obligations in Section 11 (Recording and Consent) apply to Live Translate sessions. You are responsible for obtaining any required consent from all participants before initiating a translated session.
11. Recording and Consent
The Service includes voice recording functionality to generate clinical documentation. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding the recording of conversations.
11.1 Know Your Local Laws
Recording laws vary by jurisdiction:
- One-party consent jurisdictions – require only one participant (you) to consent to the recording
- Two-party/all-party consent jurisdictions – require all participants to consent before recording
- Healthcare-specific regulations – some jurisdictions have additional rules for recordings in healthcare settings
You must research and understand the recording consent laws in your state, province, or country before using the recording features of this Service.
11.2 Obtaining Consent
Where required by law, you are responsible for:
- Informing clients and any other participants that the conversation may be recorded
- Obtaining appropriate consent before beginning any recording
- Documenting consent as required by applicable regulations
Vetinuity does not provide legal advice. If you are uncertain about the recording laws in your jurisdiction, consult with a licensed attorney before using the recording features.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- AI-generated content will be accurate or complete
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING AND APPROVING ALL AI-GENERATED CONTENT BEFORE USE IN CLINICAL PRACTICE.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VETINUITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
